All four individual state champions and 10 players who led their teams to state championships headline the Kansas Golf Coaches Association’s Girls All-State teams for 2022.
Class 6A champion Ella Slicker of Shawnee Mission East, 5A champion Kinslea Jones of Maize, 4A champion Addison Douglass of Wamego and 3-2-1A champion Margaret Ulrich of Wichita Collegiate each were first-team picks in their respective classes. Jones and Ulrich were repeat state champions after also winning state titles in 2021.
Class 3-2-1A state champion Pittsburg Colgan had the most first-team selections of any program, putting four on the All-3-2-1A first team. Ali Scripsick, Ava Scripsick, Greta Ison and Audrey Goetting earned the honors for the Panthers.
Ulrich and Colby’s Anna Starbuck rounded out the 3-2-1A first team.
Class 4A champion Wamego, which won its title by a whopping 88 strokes, had three first-teamers in state champion Douglass, a freshman, and seniors Ashten Pierson and Kirby McKee. The Red Raider trio were joined by Tonganoxie’s Hayden York, Eudora’s Joellen Vogt, Wellington’s Claire Ginter and Wichit Trinity Academy's Loralai Millspaugh on the first team.
Class 5A champion Kapaun Mt. Carmel had a pair of first-teamers in Meg Tilma and Alexa Garrett, both repeat first-team picks. Maize’s Jones, Andover’s Regan Dusenberry, Bishop Carroll’s Keira Ronsick, Blue Valley Southwest’s Hillary Currier and Emporia’s Avary Eckert completed the 5A first team.
Class 6A champion Olathe Northwest was represented by Claire Sullivan on the first team. She was joined by SM East’s Slicker, Blue Valley’s Hadley Neese, Olathe West’s Liz Lyons, Free State’s Claire Berquist and Blue Valley West’s Mia Rodriguez.
