TOPEKA, Kan. — The seventh annual Gameday Cheer Showcase brought the excitement to Stormont Vail Events Center on Saturday, crowning champions in all six classes. Mill Valley won the Class 6A championship and St. Thomas Aquinas captured the Class 5A crown for the second straight year. Hayden won the Class 4A title, ending Paola’s two-year run atop the class. Rossville won the Class 3A title and Cair Paravel was the Class 2A champion as both of those program’s clinched a three-peat. For Cair Paravel, the team has won back-to-back in 2A after winning 1A in 2021. Northern Valley took home the Class 1A title. Northern Valley had the distinction of being the only champion, across both cheer and dance, to bring home the school’s first Gameday Showcase title from either competition. Mill Valley won its first cheer title after the dance team previously won three titles while Hayden's dance team has won a title each of the past two years.
