The Kansas Shrine Bowl has announced its 2025 Hall of Fame Class with CJ Hamilton, Kent Sedlacek, Collin Sexton and Dane Simoneau comprising the group.
Hamilton, the state’s all-time winningest football coach during his 47-year career at Silver Lake when he compiled a 447-98 record, served as a coach in the Shrine Bowl five times, tying him for the third-most coaching appearances in the game. He was head coach twice, in 1986 and 2004, xxxxx.
Sedlacek starred for Hanover in high school and played in the 1979 Shrine Bowl for the East team. He went on to play at Kansas State and was a member of the 1982 Independence Bowl team and has spent the last 35 years working for his college alma mater.
Sexton played at Abilene and was on the West team in the 2012 Shrine Bowl, catching a 54-yard touchdown pass in the game to lead the West to a 14-7 victory. He played collegiately at Kansas State, during which time he served as a public relations intern for the Shrine Bowl in 2015 and is currently a member of the University of Kansas athletics department as the Deputy Athletics Direction-Chief Strategy Officer and sport administrator for the football program.
Simoneau starred at Sacred Heart during high school, playing for the West in the 2007 Shrine Bowl before going on to a record-setting career at Washburn where he set 35 different school records and was the MIAA offensive player of the year as a senior. He also played baseball for the Ichabods and is currently in his fifth season as an assistant coach for the Washburn football team.
The Kansas Shrine Bowl Hall of Fame was established for the purpose of honoring those individuals who have gained recognition and fame for themselves and the Kansas Shrine Bowl as a result of their endeavors and accomplishments both on and off the football field.
The 2025 class will be inducted on May 7 at the Coach Bill Snyder Family/Sunflower Chapter National Football Foundation Banquet in Manhattan. Tickets for the event are $30.
