Coach’s comment
“Jakayla is a once in a generation player,” Colgan coach Abby Farabi said. “We had our eyes on her in elementary and couldn’t wait to have her in our program. We knew that she was going to have a fantastic career, but had no idea she would have a storybook one and become the best player to ever walk the halls of St. Mary’s Colgan. She was a kid who loved the game and it showed. It didn’t matter if you double or triple-teamed her, she always showed up. Since her sophomore year, she was the highlight of all scouting reports and she never backed away from a challenge. She made everyone around her better and she always knew she had to bring her best game in order for us to be successful. She handled the pressure better than I ever could.”
