Ellinwood has dominated the first half of its schedule, winning five of its first six tournaments.
The Eagles are coming off a title at their home invitational on Thursday.
Ty Hammeke and Ethan Schlochtermeier won the No. 2 doubles title, and Dominic Martinez captured the No. 2 singles title. Phillip Penner and Christopher
Rugan took second in No. 1 doubles, and Greg Ringwald was second in No. 1 singles.
The Eagles also won tournaments at Clay Center, Great Bend, Larned and Pratt.
Hammeke and Schlochtermeier have compiled a 20-2 record on the season, while Penner and Rugan have gone 19-3.
In singles, Ringwald is 19-4 on the season, while Martinez has fashioned a 17-5 record.
“We are playing very well as of late and hope to continue the run going into the second half of the season,” Ellinwood coach Parker Winter said.
Up next for the Eagles is the Smoky Valley Invitational.
OTHER WESTERN KANSAS BOYS TENNIS STANDOUTS
– Central Plains tennis is off to a stellar start. The Oilers top doubles team of Peyton Dody and Alden Metro are undefeated at 14-0. The No. 2 doubles team of Richard Hayes and Scott Lamatsch have fashioned a 14-1 record.
– Meade senior singles player Samuel Lynn is 18-6 on the season.
– Phillipsburg’s Colton Ewing and William Jessup are 19-2 on the season. Their only two losses came to Central Plains’ Alden Metro and Peyton Dody. Phillipsburg’s Cash Roth has gone 16-5 in singles. Roth has won his last eight matches since falling to Garden City’s Zane Storer.
– WaKeeney-Trego junior singles player Hudson Deines is 12-3 on the season. Deines has won his last six matches.

HOLCOMB’S DAVIS SMASHING SCHOOL RECORDS
Holcomb senior Sarah Beth Davis has broken four different school records, setting top marks in the 50 free, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley.
At the Longhorns’ meet in Garden City last week, passed the program record for most points compiled at just over 1,300.
“She's also a standout kid,” Holcomb Rachel Davis said. “She has a 4.0, works two part=time jobs and is a member of numerous clubs and organizations here at Holcomb. She currently has offers to continue her swimming career at several different schools and is hoping to make a decision soon on where she will attend college.”
Davis currently has a top 25 time in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:19.08.
She won the 100 backstroke at the Garden City meet with a 1:17.38.
OTHER WESTERN KANSAS SWIMMING STANDOUTS
– Hays’ Jaylen Hughes has recorded state-qualifying times in the 200 individual medley (2:30.62) and 100 yard backstroke (106.34), and she has a state consideration time in the 50 yard freestyle at 26.93. Hays’ 200 yard medley relay team of Cailin Debey, Carissa Sun, Hughes and Lucy Tippy has a consideration time of 2:10.94, and Hughes, Jayleigh Weilert, Debey and Tippy have consideration times of 1:56.10 in the 200 yard freestyle relay and 4:25.31 in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
– Garden City’s Livi Meng has a state-qualifying time in the 50 free with a 26.36, and Brylee West has a qualifying time of 1:15.83 in the 100 breaststroke. Meng and West are also on the Buffaloes’ 200 yard freestyle relay team – along with Lauren Lightner and Ellie Sekavec – that has the 10th best time in 6A with a 1:49.73. The same group has also posted a state-qualifying team of 2:05.82 in the 200 yard medley relay, and Meng, Jencie Stocking, Sekavec and West have another qualifying time in the 400 freestyle relay at 4:07.57 for the Buffaloes.
– Great Bend’s Meredith Mazouch, Emma Snapp, Braylee Carper and Hadley Gregg clocked a state consideration time of 4:35.34 at the Buhler Invitational on Tuesday.
