Southwestern Heights' Lacie Banman

LACIE BANMAN, SOUTHWESTERN HEIGHTS

Banman, a four-year starter, has displayed versatility throughout her career. She played catcher as a freshman and sophomore, third base as a junior and shortstop this season as a senior, showing the ability to handle multiple defensive roles at a high level. Banman earned first-team All-Hi Plains League recognition last year after hitting .415 with five doubles and 21 RBIs, while striking out just six times and committing only three errors. The Mustangs are coming off a 21-4 season in 2025.

Riverton's Avery Barnett

AVERY BARNETT, RIVERTON

A four-year starter at shortstop, Barnett has been a steady force in the Rams’ lineup and infield, coming off a standout junior campaign in which she hit .432 with 38 hits, nine doubles, three home runs and 25 RBIs. She was just as impressive in her approach at the plate, posting a .510 on-base percentage while striking out only once all season. Defensively, Barnett anchors the middle of the field with confidence and efficiency, recording a .971 fielding percentage with just three errors. A two-time team captain and back-to-back All-CNC selection — including a first-team nod last season — Barnett’s leadership is just as valuable as her production.

Boese helped the Dragons post a 21-4 record last spring, batting .418 with six home runs and 41 RBIs. A four-year starter who has played catcher, shortstop and second base, Boese appropriately earned All-Central Kansas League first team as a utility player. A Tabor College commit and one of five returning starters for Halstead, she batted .444 in the Dragons’ first eight games.

Brawner’s first three seasons have been good times for the Wildcats, who are 70-10 since she became their ace in the circle. A Hutchinson Community College signee, Brawner went 23-5 last season with a 2.58 ERA and 198 strikeouts in 140 innings. She also batted .481 with 50 hits, four home runs, 32 RBIs and 54 runs scored. Brawner, a three-time All-Class 3A second-team and All-Central Kansas League first-team pick, is closing in on the Wildcats’ career record for victories.

Campbell, the reigning Great West Activities Conference player of the year, was a force at the plate and in the circle last season as a junior. She posted a 2.16 ERA in 162 innings, striking out 206. Campbell hit .419 with 16 doubles and 35 RBIs.

Carter was the Eagles’ top pitcher and a key contributor at the plate for their state-qualifying team in 2025. She won 13 games with a 2.11 ERA and 123 strikeouts while also hitting .390 with four home runs. Carter was a first-team All-Great West Activities Conference selection last season as a sophomore.

Channell has been a fixture up the middle of the diamond for Beloit for the duration of her career, seeing time at second base, shortstop and outfield in her previous three years as a starter. Last year, she led the team with a .549 average, collecting 45 hits including 13 doubles and 4 home runs. She also drove in a team-high 37 runs and added 10 stolen bases helping Beloit to a 19-9 mark. Channell was a first-team All-North Central Activities Association selection.

Cheney is one of the top returning hitters off last season’s Eagle team that reached the state tournament for the first time since 2019. Now a senior, she hit .419 with three home runs and 36 RBIs last year and was a first-team All-Great West Activities Conference selection.

Corcoran is a three-year starter at shortstop for the Kaws and had a big power season a year ago at the plate. Corcoran smacked 12 home runs to lead the team while also hitting a robust .467. Corcoran drove in 29 runs and had 10 stolen bases. Corcoran earned first-team All-Big East League honors after previously being an All-Big Seven League pick in 202 when she hit .479 with 10 home runs.

Kingman's Taylor Creadick

Creadick, a junior, transferred from Pratt, where she earned second-team All-Class 4A and All-Central Kansas League as a utility player last season. She also was voted all-league second team her freshman year as an outfielder, helping the Greenbacks win 35 games in two seasons. She joined a Kingman squad that returned six starters from a 17-9 team. Creadick’s new team tallied a combined total of 100 runs in its first eight games this season.

Cross is in her fourth season guiding Trinity’s pitchers from behind the plate. The UMKC signee helped the Knights earn their second straight Class 3A state appearance last season, batting .500 with six home runs, 43 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. She had 45 hits and a .569 on-base percentage, earning All-Central Plains League first-team and All-3A second-team honors. Cross hit .479 and stole 28 bases as a sophomore, helping Trinity finish third in 3A.

The daughter of Kaws coach Erin Damme, Paxton stepped into a starting outfield role her first season in left field and then moved to centerfield a year ago as a sophomore. She finished the season with a .352 batting average, collecting 37 hits, and had a pair of home runs and 18 RBI. After earning first-team All-Big East League honors in the outfield last year, Damme makes the move to first base this season as the Kaws look to improve on last year’s 9-19 record.

Dean was a big-time impact freshman for Jefferson West, helping the Tigers return to the state tournament for the first time since 2015. Dean set a school record for hits in a season with 51, finishing with a .477 average. She only struck out 5 times as well. Dean scored 32 runs and stole 19 bases, earning first-team All-Big East League honors as West finished with a 22-6 record.

Detweiler has progressed throughout her career as a pitcher for the Bluejays and likely will finish her career top three in the program in career wins, innings pitched and strikeouts. Last year she recorded eight of Sabetha’s 12 victories in the circle and also had saves in two of the other victories. She hit .239 with 2 home runs and 18 RBI, earning first-team All-Big East League honors in the utility/designated player spot.

Gibbs enters her third year as Centralia’s starting shortstop and was a first-team All-Twin Valley League selection last year. She hit .473 with a 1.554 OPS. Nearly half of her hits went for extra bases s Gibbs had 4 doubles and 7 home runs. She drove in 29 and also stole 15 bases in helping Centralia/Frankfort to a 15-7 record.

ELYSE GRIFFIN, HESSTON
 
Griffin, a senior, is the top returning hitter on a Swather team that finished 14-11 a year ago. The senior pitcher and infielder batted .512 with one home run and 33 RBIs and 38 runs scored. Griffin saw limited pitching duty due to a back injury. Despite that, the Barton Community College signee holds all of the Swathers’ career and single-season pitching records, along with career hits, runs scored and RBIs. Griffin, a four-year starter, earned All-Central Kansas League first team at second base and All-3A second team at the utility spot.

KENNEDY GRIFFIN, RIVERSIDE

Griffin was as driving force behind the best season in Riverside’s history as the Cyclones not only qualified for state for the first time ever, but finished fourth and with a 22-6 record. Griffin took over the first base position as a freshman last year and wound up leading the Cyclones in hitting with a .500 average. She blasted 11 home runs and drove in 46 runs, earning second-team All-Class 3A honors to go along with being a first-team All-Northeast Kansas League pick. Riverside returns all but one player from last year’s squad.

Hesston's Emma Gudeman

EMMA GUDEMAN, HESSTON

Gudeman, a senior outfielder, is part of a large group of returning Swathers. Hesston graduated just two seniors from its team that finished 14-11. Gudeman was a unanimous All-Central Kansas League selection after batting .333 with 25 hits, 23 RBIs and 29 runs scored. She was one of three Swathers with double-digit steals last spring, finishing with 12. Gudeman missed the early part of this season with a leg injury, but is back and playing full time.

An All-State Top 5 selection in basketball this year after leading Silver Lake to the Class 3A state championship for the second time in three years, Hanni has been a driving force behind two straight Class 3A state runner-up finishes for the softball team as well. A four-year starter in centerfield, Hanni hit .423 a year ago to rank third on the team behind departed All-Class 3A infielders Taylor Zordel and Kira Lowrey. Hanni led the Eagles with 15 stolen bases and was a first-team All-Big East League and first-team All-Class 3A selection.

KEAGON HARDESTY, MINNEAPOLIS
 
Minneapolis made just its second appearance ever at the state tournament last year, the other coming in 2014, and the arrival of Hardesty was a big reason why. As a freshman a year ago she complemented now-departed Braedee Weatherman on the Lions’ pitching staff and finished with an 8-2 record with a 3.20 ERA and 52 strikeouts. She also did some heavy lifting at the plate, hitting .476 with 9 doubles and 30 RBIs, earning first-team All-North Central Activities Association honors.

Heiman enters her third year starting at first base for the Eagles and has helped Silver Lake post back-to-back Class 3A state runner-up finishes. She emerged as a power source for the Eagles last year, bombing eight home runs to rank only behind departed All-Stater Taylor Zordel on the team. Heiman drove in 31 runs and hit .323.

REESE HEINRICH, SOUTHEAST OF SALINE
 
Heinrich was one of two impact freshmen a year ago that helped Southeast of Saline capture the North Central Activities Association title and post a 22-5 overall mark, the season ending with a 4-3 regional title game loss to Silver Lake. Heinrich stepped in as the starting shortstop for the Trojans and hit leadoff, posting a stellar .548 batting average. Once she got on base, her speed was deadly as she swiped a whopping 61 stolen bases. Heinrich homered once and drove in 18 but was a table-setter along with fellow freshman Kyiah Samuelson, earning first-team All-NCAA honors as well as being a second-team All-Class 3A selection.

Helm had a strong junior season inside the circle, posting a 10-3 record with a 2.48 ERA. That helped Kingman finish 17-9 after falling to Class 3A state qualifier Wichita Trinity in the Halstead regional semifinals. Helm, an All-Central Plains League first-team pick, is one of three returning pitchers for the Eagles, who brought back six starters from their 2025 team.

Irvin has been a starter since her freshman season and helped the Beavers make back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2023 and 2024. She turned in another strong season last year as a junior, earning first-team All-Great West Activities Conference honors. Irvin has signed to play softball at Dodge City Community College.

MIA JACKSON, RIVERSIDE

Jackson helped lead Riverside to the best season in program history as the Cyclones finished 22-6 and placed fourth at the Class 3A state tournament – the program’s first-ever state tournament appearance. Jackson was the Cyclones’ ace last year, going 13-3 with a 2.75 ERA. She also hit .306 with 3 home runs and scored 27 runs, earning first-team All-Northeast Kansas League honors.

Keim became a starter midway through her freshman season and hasn’t left the lineup since, entering her fourth season as a starter for the Bluejays. She can play either of the middle infield spots and earned honorable mention All-Class 3A honors there last year after hitting a team-high .447. She had 6 doubles and 3 triples among her 42 hits and is on track to finish as Sabetha’s career leader in hits, runs, stolen bases. She had an on-base percentage of .522 last year and scored 33 runs.

Not only does Lewis provide a productive bat in Trinity’s lineup, she is part of a powerful 1-2 pitching punch for the Knights. Her four innings of shutout relief in last year’s Class 3A regional finals enabled Trinity to rally for a 9-8 victory over Haven that yielded the Knights’ second straight state tournament berth. Lewis, Trinity’s career strikeout leader, earned All-Central Plains League first-team honors and All-3A honorable mention at pitcher after going 12-1 with a 1.02 ERA and 93 strikeouts. The Butler Community College signee also plays outfield and first base. She batted .390 last spring with three home runs, 29 RBIs and 18 stolen bases.

PARRIS MARSH, OSKALOOSA

Marsh served as Oskaloosa’s catcher, handling a pitching staff that was dominant in the Bears’ run to their first-ever state championship. She had only one error behind the plate and allowed no passed balls. At the plate, Marsh hit .460 to rank second on the team and also was second in home runs with 3. She drove in 24 runs and scored 48, stealing 18 bases. Marsh was first-team All-Class 2-1A and All-Northeast Kansas League.

Frontenac's Grace McLaren

GRACEN MCLAREN, FRONTENAC

Frontenac has been one of the top programs in Class 3A in recent years and McLaren has been right in the middle of it. A key contributor to back-to-back state championships — including a 30-1 season in 2025 — McLaren has established herself as one of the steady, reliable pieces in the Raiders’ lineup. The junior second baseman hit .394 a year ago, providing consistent production at the plate while anchoring the infield defensively with a .950 fielding percentage, 50 putouts and 26 assists. A first team all-state infielder and SIK 3A first team selection, she enters her junior season as another cornerstone for a Frontenac program that continues to set the standard.

MILEY MCCLURE, MINNEAPOLIS
 
Minneapolis’ starting shortstop since her freshman year, McClure enjoyed a big sophomore season in helping the Lions reach the state tournament for just the second time in program history. McClure hit .479 with 6 home runs and 43 RBI – one of her home runs a grand slam in the regional title game against Beloit that propelled the Lions to state. McClure was a first-team All-North Central Activities Association selection.

Southwestern Heights' Mariah Mendoza 

MARIAH MENDOZA, SOUTHWESTERN HEIGHTS

Mendoza wasted no time becoming a key contributor for the Mustangs, excelling as both a pitcher and catcher during her freshman season. She finished with a 9-2 record in the circle and a 2.46 ERA, setting a single-season school record with 106 strikeouts. At the plate, she hit .542 with seven doubles, six home runs and 38 RBIs for the 21-4 Mustangs. She was also a defensive standout behind the plate, committing just three errors. Mendoza earned first-team All-Hi Plains League honors.

KIERSTYN MITCHELL, OSKALOOSA

Mitchell emerged as Oskaloosa top power bat in the lineup as the Bears captured the first state championship in program history by taking the Class 2-1A title. Mitchell led the Bears with 5 home runs a year ago as a sophomore and her 41 RBI were 16 more than any other Bear. She finished with a .440 batting average and a .780 slugging percentage and added 10 doubles and 3 triples to her home run totals. Mitchell was a first-team All-Class 2-1A and Northeast Kansas League selection.

LEXI MOORE, ELLSWORTH

The Bearcats return a senior leader in Moore, a four-year starter as a catcher and outfielder. Moore owns Ellsworth’s single-season and career home run records. She was a first-team All-North Central Activities Association selection last season as a junior. Moore has signed to play volleyball at Oklahoma Christian University.

ALIVIA MORRISON, NEODESHA
 
Morrison, a senior, has been a starter for the Bluestreaks since her freshman year, playing third base, first base and pitcher. Neodesha won just one game last season, but Morrison earned All-Tri-Valley League first-team honors after receiving honorable mention as a sophomore. So far this spring, the Bluestreaks split a doubleheader with Humboldt, then swept Fredonia to surpass last year’s victory total as Morrison homered twice in Neodesha’s first five games.

ASHLEY MOSER, JEFFERSON WEST
 
A player who does a little bit of everything for the Tigers, Moser is what West coach Maddy Barger calls “Clutch Factory.” She had 25 RBI last year, most of those coming with two outs as Moser came up big time and time again in helping the Tigers return to the Class 3A state tournament for the first time since winning the Class 4A Division II title in 2015. Moser finished the season with a .307 batting average with 3 home runs among her 25 hits. She also stole 10 bases and also posted a 1.000 fielding percentage playing a variety of positions. She earned first-team All-Big East League honors as a utility player.

MADISEN MOUNT, ATCHISON COUNTY
 
Mount made quite an impression a year ago as a freshman, leading the Tigers with a .319 average. She stole seven bases and was a first-team All-Northeast Kansas League pick in the outfield, patrolling centerfield. She’s become a vocal leader this season as a sophomore.

Wichita Trinity's Alexia Nelson
 
ALEXIA NELSON, WICHITA TRINITY
 
Nelson quickly emerged as an offensive weapon last year for the Knights, hitting a team-leading seven home runs with 42 RBIs and 15 stolen bases as a freshman to earn All-Class 3A second team and All-Central Plains League first team at shortstop. Nelson’s three-run home run in the regional final helped Trinity rally past Haven 9-8 for its second consecutive state berth. She batted .467 for the season with 43 hits and a .505 on-base average.

KENZIE NELSON, HIAWATHA
 
Nelson is a four-year starter for the Redhawks, playing both catcher and shortstop. She was a first-team All-Big East League selection behind the plate for Hiawatha last year after hitting .400 with 32 hits, 7 of which were double and 6 being home runs. Her 28 RBI tied for the team lead with Michaela Williams, who had a big freshman year hitting .448 in addition to her RBI total. Defensively Nelson made an even bigger impact behind the plate, throwing out 14 would-be basestealers and also picking off 6 runners.

Nelson is a defensive whiz in centerfield for Hiawatha where she’s a three-year starter. She had 33 putouts a year ago and also helped turn a double play. At the plate, she was adept at moving runners and putting the ball in play. She also stole 10 bases on her way to earning first-team All-Big East League honors.

FAITH OLBERDING, HOLTON
 
Olberding enjoyed a freshman season that most veterans would take in an instant, having a big impact for Holton as they Wildcats posted a 13-10 record last. A rare left-handed catcher, Olberding earned first-team All-Big East League honors after hitting a sizzling .546 last year. She had 15 doubles and 29 RBI and perhaps most impressively did not strike out once, posting an on-base percentage of .640.

Haven's Morgan O'Neal

MORGAN O’NEAL, HAVEN
 
O’Neal, a four-year starter, has a chance to become Haven’s career home run leader this season. The senior shortstop batted .587 with eight home runs and 46 RBIs last season, helping the Wildcats post a 23-5 record. She earned first-team All-Class 3A and All-Central Kansas League first-team honors after a season in which she reached base 75 times by hit, walk or hit by pitch. O’Neal was a second-team all-league pick after each of her first two seasons. She opened this season batting .586 through Haven’s first six games.

Pitts battled an elbow injury all last season, but continued to be a rock in the pitcher’s circle for the Indians as she has been throughout her entire career, now entering her fourth year as a starter. Pitts finished last year with an 11-5 record with a 1.53 ERA and 122 strikeouts and in her career is 33-9 with a 1.58 ERA and 374 strikeouts. She led Osage City to a Class 3A state berth as a sophomore and has been a three-time first-team All-Flint Hills League selection. She also hit .414 last year with 26 RBI and is a .389 career hitter for the Indians.

LILY PULLEN, OSKALOOSA
 
Pullen got a late start to her season a year ago due to broken ribs, but once she returned, the sophomore was the difference-maker as Oskaloosa lost just once after she returned and cruised to the Class 2-1A state title – the first for the program. Pullen threw a perfect game in the regional semifinals against Mission Valley and then had a three-hitter in the regional title game. She allowed just three runs in six postseason victories and struck out 12 in Oskaloosa’s 8-1 win over Inman in the state championship game. She finished the season with a 0.42 ERA in 66.2 innings pitched, striking out a whopping 145 batters and walking just 12, earning first-team All-Class 2-1A and All-Northeast Kansas League honors.

Randa was a productive hitter for the Bluejays last season as a sophomore, batting .353 with five doubles, a triple, 19 RBIs, 33 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. She earned first-team All-Great West Activities Conference honors.

Rigdon earned All-Tri-Valley League first-team accolades for the second straight season after leading the Bullpups to a 14-8 record. The Oklahoma Wesleyan commit is a four-year starter in softball and a two-time state placer in wrestling. She helped Caney Valley’s offense rack up 126 runs in a 6-2 start this spring.

Roth, a junior, has had two productive offensive seasons for the Swathers, already setting the program’s single-season record for runs scored (45) and walks (27) along with career walks (50 through last year). Splitting time at shortstop, catcher and outfielder, Roth earned All-Central Kansas League first team as a utility player last spring. She batted .410 with 32 hits, 22 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. Roth drew 18 walks with just one strikeout in Hesston’s first 10 games this season, scoring 18 runs.

KYIAH SAMUELSON, SOUTHEAST OF SALINE
 
Samuelson joined classmate Reese Heinrich as big-time impact freshmen for the Trojans a year ago as the two hit at the top of the Trojan lineup and keyed an offense that was among the best in Class 3A last year. Samuelson hit .456 from the 2-hole, homering twice and driving in 36 runs. She also stole 22 bases and had just as big of an impact in the field as an elite defensive centerfielder. Samuelson joined Heinrich as a second-team All-Class 3A selection and first-team All-North Central Activities Association pick after helping the Trojans to the league title and a 22-5 overall record.

Schellenger has provided a spark in the circle and at the plate for the Knights for three-plus seasons. The Dodge City Community College signee, who plays first base and outfielder in addition to pitching, batted .386 with one home run, 27 RBIs and seven stolen bases last season as Trinity finished 24-4 with its second straight Class 3A state tournament berth. Schellenger also went 12-3 with a 1.54 ERA and 93 strikeouts, earning All-3A second team for the second time and All-Central Plains League first team for the third time at pitcher.

Smith was Beloit’s workhorse in the circle last year, recording a 17-9 record as Beloit finished with a 19-9 overall mark, falling in the sub-state finals to North Central Activities Association rival Minneapolis. Smith finished with a 3.60 ERA and struck out 31. She was one of Beloit’s leading hitters as well with a .446 average, belting 5 home runs and driving in 21 while also stealing 23 bases. Smith earned first-team all-league honors.

Thompson, a junior, has filled several roles for the Dragons during her career, including pitcher, catcher, center fielder and second baseman. She earned first-team All-Central Kansas League as a pitcher after posting a 6-1 record last spring. Thompson also batted .446 with 26 RBIs in Halstead’s 21-4 campaign. Thompson has provided the Dragons with a power source this spring, hitting three home runs and batting .407 in their first eight games.

Turner was Oskaloosa’s top offensive player on its Class 2-1A state championship team, the first state title in program history. She was the lone Bear to hit over .500, finishing with a .549 average and .655 on-base percentage as well as a .976 slugging percentage. Turner had 16 doubles among her 45 hits as well as 8 triples. She scored a team-high 57 runs and also drove in 25, which ranked second on the team. Her 46 stolen bases were more than double the next-highest Bear. KENDYLL WALKER, CHENEY
 
Walker helped Cheney post a 16-7 record last season, batting .422 with 35 hits, 21 RBIs and 26 runs scored. The Cardinal junior also hit 11 doubles. One of Cheney’s four returning starters and a three-year regular in left field, Walker earned All-Class 3A second team for the first time, and All-Central Plains League first team for the second straight year as an outfielder.

Haven's Mayzie Warden

MAYZIE WARDEN, HAVEN
 
Warden is part of Haven’s successful senior class that won 70 games over the past three seasons. The senior center fielder batted .500 last season, striking out once in 119 plate appearances. The Wildcats’ leadoff hitter recorded 50 hits, including 16 doubles, scored 50 runs with 30 RBIs. Warden earned All-Class 3A first-team outfielder last spring as well as All-Central Kansas League first team for the second straight season. Warden had 12 hits, 14 runs and 10 RBIs in Haven’s first six games this season.

Osage City's Addison Watson
 
ADDISON WATSON, OSAGE CITY
 
Watson has found many homes on the Osage City infield in her four years as a starter, spending time at shortstop, third base and even catcher. She’ll likely spend most of her time behind the plate this year receiving pitcher from four-year starting pitcher Peyton Pitts. Watson hit .299 last year and had 20 stolen bases. She’s a .347 career hitter and has 45 career stolen bases. Watson earned first-team All-Flint Hills League honors last year.

Centralia's Blair Wehling
 
BLAIR WEHLING, CENTRALIA/FRANKFORT
 
Wehling stepped right into a starting pitcher role last year for Centralia/Frankfort as a freshman and quickly became the team’s ace. She finished with a 12-3 mark in Centralia’s 15-7 season, posting a 1.83 ERA with 93 strikeouts. Wehling also hit .382 with 4 home runs and 26 RBI, earning first-team All-Twin Valley League honors.

Southeast of Saline's Karlee Zurfluh
 
KARLEE ZURFLUH, SOUTHEAST OF SALINE
 
After not playing softball her freshman season when she was a state track qualifier, Zurfluh was a huge addition to the program a year ago, holding down the ace spot on Southeast’s pitching staff. She finished with a 13-4 overall record with her losses as a starter coming to state qualifiers Wamego, Chapman and Silver Lake – two of those one-run games including a 4-3 loss to Silver Lake in the regional finals. She posted a 1.50 ERA and struck out 118. In addition to pitching this year, she will also play some first base. Zurfluh earned first-team All-North Central Activities Association honors last year.
