TOPEKA, Kan. - The Kansas Association for Youth Alumni Network (KAYAN) proudly presented a check to Kansas Association for Youth (KAY) State Director Annie Diederich in the amount of $2,395 in support of KAY Leadership Camp 2022.
"For the past 76 years, one of the many constants in the KAY program is the passionate Alumni who give their time and resources in cultivating the next generations of Kansas leaders through the KAY program," said KAYAN President Abraham Pfannenstiel. "Today's gift by our Alumni to KAY is another acknowledgment of the strong relationship that KAYAN has built with the Kansas State High School Activities Association over the past 10 years as we partner together to grow the KAY program and develop meaningful opportunities for Kansas students to lead and serve in their schools, communities, nation, and world. I am proud to deliver this check on behalf of the hundreds of Alumni who believe in KAY and the lifelong impact that our students experience at KAY Leadership Camp. Thank you to our generous Alumni and KAY friends who made this gift possible. Once A KAY, Always A KAY."
KAY Leadership Camp 2022 was held at Rock Springs 4-H Center on July 25-29. The theme for this year’s camp was “Service with Purpose” which challenged students to understand the “Why” behind service and volunteerism as they strive to make a difference in the world around them. These funds will help offset the cost of camp as the KAY program continues to facilitate a lifechanging experience for students focused on leadership and service.
