Kansas Eight-Man Football Association announces All-Star game selections

Three players chosen for the 50th annual Kansas Shrine Bowl have also earned berths for the Kansas Eight-Man Football Association All-Star Game.
 
South Sumner’s Keiondre Smith, Little River’s Braxton Lafferty and Axtell’s Isaac Detweiler each added Eight-Man All-Star honors to their Shrine Bowl selections, which were announced earlier this month. Smith and Lafferty will play in the Division I game for the East squad while Detweiler will suit up for the East in the Division II game.
 
Detweiler led Axtell to back-to-back state championships ax a junior and senior. His father, Eric, was named the coach of the year by the Kansas Eight-Man Football Association.
 
The Eight-Man All-Star games will be held June 10 in Beloit. The Division II game will start at 10 a.m., while the Division I game will kick off at 1:30 p.m.
 
Last year, the East won the Division I game 35-34, while the West took the Division II game 36-28.
