Iola dropped to Class 3A in 2024 and Coffield finished his sophomore season with a tie for 14th, improving his state score by six shots to a 159. Last year, Coffield enjoyed his best season, placing fifth or better at every tournament ahead of the state meet, capturing tourney titles at the Wellsville Invitational and Bulldog Bash Invitational, shooting a career-best 1-over 71 at the latter and a 73 at Wellsville. He also had a 72 in a runner-up finish at the Pioneer League meet, one of four second-place showings. Coffield just missed another top-five finish at the state meet, tying for sixth with Trinity Academy’s Cole Palmer and Scott City’s Jackson Rumford with a 153 total.

Hesston's Carter Frey

CARTER FREY, HESSTON

Frey, a junior, had a good 2025 season brewing before illness shut him down last May. He posted five top-10 finishes in seven events, putting together a 77.4 scoring average. His low round was a 1-under 70 at the Hesston Invitational, where he tied for fourth. Frey also tied for second at the Sacred Heart Invitational. He missed the Central Kansas League tournament and 3A regional, costing him a second state appearance. Frey tied for 27th at the 3A meet as a sophomore, helping the Swathers capture the team championship.

Collegiate's Landon Langston

LANDON LANGSTON, WICHITA COLLEGIATE

Langston, a junior, played a key role last spring in Collegiate’s drive to its first Class 3A title in 10 years. An All-3A second-team selection, Langston held the 18-hole lead at the 3A state tournament before finishing fourth with a two-day total of 151 at Garden City’s Buffalo Dunes. That led the Spartans to a five-shot victory over runner-up Wichita Trinity. Langston’s seven top-10 finishes last season included second at the Eisenhower Invitational, third at the Circle Varsity Tournament and a playoff victory over teammate Jacobi Salyers and Wellington’s Cameron Rosenberg to earn medalist honors and lead the Spartans to the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail IV title. Langston’s individual state medal was his second, as he finished 12th in 3A as a freshman, helping Collegiate to a third-place team finish.

Trinity's Alex Majors

ALEX MAJORS, TRINITY ACADEMY

Majors basically duplicated his Class 3A state tournament finish last year from his maiden voyage in the tournament in 2024. The Knight senior tied for 17th with a 36-hole total of 160 at Buffalo Dunes, the same score he posted when he shared 18th place in 3A at Emporia Municipal. Last year’s finish, however, helped Trinity to a runner-up team finish, five shots behind champion Wichita Collegiate. The Knights earned their state berth with a regional team victory, led by Majors’ second-place finish. It was one of seven top-10s for Majors in 2025. He also finished second in the Central Plains League tournament at Kingman, leading the Knights to the team title.

JAKE MOONEY, RUSSELL

22024
Jefferson West's Gage Moser

GAGE MOSER, JEFFERSON WEST

Moser wasted no time in establishing himself as one of West’s top golfers, moving right into the varsity lineup as a freshman in 2024 and finishing the season as an All-Big Seven League selection. Over his first two seasons at West, Moser has already posted 10 top-10 finishes and recorded two tournament victories – the second of those coming at last year’s Jefferson West Invitational where he had his career-best round of 76. He improved his scoring average by eight strokes to an 82.4 and capped his sophomore season with a tie for 19th-place finish at the Class 3A state tournament, shooting a two-day total of 161.

22007
Holton's Easton Moulin

EASTON MOULIN, HOLTON

Moulin made an immediate impact for the Wildcats when he captured the title at the Sabetha Invitational last year in just his second varsity start of his high school career. He finished a stellar freshman season with medals at nine of his 10 meets, the only non-medal performance coming at the Class 4A state meet where he tied for 32nd with a 167 two-day total. He shot a 77 at regionals to place fifth, one off his career best of 76 at the Nemaha Central Invitational. Moulin finished top 10 in eight of 10 meets and finished with a scoring average of 80.5. Holton drops to Class 3A for golf this season and Moulin will look to get the only medal that eluded him a year ago.

Wichita Trinity's Cole Palmer

COLE PALMER, TRINITY ACADEMY

Palmer is coming off a solid sophomore season in which he earned All-3A honorable mention and posted four top-five finishes, highlighted by fourth-place efforts in the Cheney Invitational and Central Plains League tournament at Kingman. After a bit of an off day in the 3A regional tournament that Trinity won, Palmer came back at state to card rounds of 74 and 79 at Garden City’s Buffalo Dunes, finishing sixth individually to lead the Knights to a runner-up team finish. The state performance lowered Palmer’s stroke average just under 80 for the season.

Baxter Springs' Cole Parrish

COLE PARRISH, BAXTER SPRINGS

Parrish wasted little time establishing himself as one of the top young golfers in the CNC League, and he enters this spring poised for an even bigger leap. As a freshman, Parrish put together an impressive debut campaign that included a CNC League championship, a regional runner-up finish and four individual tournament titles. He also posted a season-low round of 70 and earned KSGA Class 3A All-State honorable mention honors. Parrish qualified for the Class 3A state tournament in his first season, narrowly missing the cut after the opening round.

JACOBI SALYERS, WICHITA COLLEGIATE

Salyers put together a solid finish to his freshman season in 2025, finishing second to teammate Landon Langston in a playoff for the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail IV individual title. He then led Collegiate to a runner-up finish with his third-place effort at the 3A regional in Wichita before posting a two-round total of 155 at Garden City’s Buffalo Dunes to help the Spartans capture their first 3A state championship since 2015. Salyers’ closing 76 was the low round of his debut season, helping him join Langston as top-10 state medal winners. Salyers posted an 80 stroke average, leading to five top-10 finishes.

Marysville's Eli Sedlacek

ELI SEDLACEK, MARYSVILLE

After just missing out on a state medal as a sophomore when he finished tied for 23rd at the 2024 Class 3A state meet, Sedlacek put himself safely inside the top 20 at last year’s state meet as a junior. The Bulldog posted a two-day total of 159 (80-79) to finish tied for 15th with Russell’s Jake Mooney. Sedlacek had seven top-10 finishes last season and won the title at the Marysville Invitational with a season-best score of 73.
